Working Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week - Monday - Friday 9AM - 5PM
Salary: £28,389 per annum
Location: Sale Road Norwich with travel required to other external sites. This role covers North, South, Central Norwich, East and West
- You will be required to travel to other locations where necessary. Due to the nature of the role, a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are essential. Business insurance is also required. Mileage is reimbursed at 45p per mile for cars, after deducting the mileage between your home and work base.

In this role you will play a key role in supporting the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of Norfolk and Waveney Mind’s training department. Working collaboratively with the Head of Training and wider team, the postholder will design, deliver, and evaluate high-quality training that enhances the knowledge, skills, and confidence of staff, volunteers, and external partners.
About The Role
As the Learning and Development Trainer, you will work closely with the Head of Training and wider team to develop, deliver, and continuously improve our diverse training portfolio. You will design and facilitate engaging sessions on topics including workplace wellbeing, mental health awareness, suicide intervention, and recovery — delivered through a variety of formats such as face-to-face workshops, virtual sessions, and e-learning modules. Your work will help foster a culture of wellbeing and support our mission to enhance mental health understanding across staff, volunteers, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based training sessions that engage and empower diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with the Training Team to develop and maintain a comprehensive training schedule aligned with organisational priorities.
- Co-design training content with Subject Matter Experts to ensure relevance and quality.
- Support Training Needs Analysis (TNA) processes to guide organisational learning strategies.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on training effectiveness, contributing to ongoing improvements.
- Assist with promoting our external training offerings through marketing and community engagement.
- Stay up-to-date with developments and best practices in mental health and social care training.
- Support innovative delivery methods including blended and online learning formats.
- Uphold our organisation’s values of quality, inclusion, and continuous improvement in all training activities.
Candidates must demonstrate confidence and competence in the following areas:
- Relevant training or teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET, CertEd, or equivalent).
- MHFA Instructor status.
- Experience working within the voluntary or community sector.
- Proven track record in delivering engaging training or group facilitation, ideally within mental health, wellbeing, or social care settings.
- Experience designing and developing training materials for diverse audiences and delivery formats.
- Strong understanding of mental health, wellbeing, and recovery principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve shared goals and deadlines.
