About The Role
We are seeking a Learning and Development Specialist to join our People Strategy team. Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Development, the Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for supporting a broad range of learning and development initiatives in a rapidly evolving business environment. The Specialist will design and deliver innovative learning solutions that align with CAAT’s strategic mandate, plan goals, and core values. They will also leverage expertise of learning needs assessment, instructional design (including e-learning authoring tools), virtual and in-person facilitation, evaluation, and learning ROI for all levels and departments of the organization.
As The Newest Member Of Our Team, You’ll
- Support the design and implementation of CAAT’s learning and development strategy by conducting regular skills and learning needs assessments with business stakeholders to inform program development.
- Design, deliver, and manage a suite of organization-wide and team-specific learning solutions (e.g., classroom, virtual, blended, microlearning), leveraging modern learning technologies to create scalable and engaging experiences.
- Manage and maintain CAAT Academy learning experience platform, including learning pathways, course catalogues, mentoring, job shadowing and stretch assignments.
- Apply change management best practices across all initiatives that impact people and culture.
- Act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders by coordinating and facilitating strategic initiatives (e.g., planning meetings, team building); implementing programs that elevate the employee experience and drive measurable business outcomes.
- Design, measure and report the impact and ROI of learning initiatives through relevant evaluation methods and metrics.
- Stay current with evolving trends and best practices in learning, skills and technology, and recommend opportunities to adapt.
- Keep abreast of industry knowledge and trends by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
To Succeed, You Bring
- Post-secondary education and/or certification in Adult Learning (CTDP), Instructional Design, Human Resources, or related field is required.
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in Learning and Development, Talent Development and/or related HR functions.
- Experience with pensions is considered an asset.
- Proven ability to design, deliver, and evaluate effective learning solutions, from conducting needs assessments and creating content through facilitation in virtual, classroom, and blended formats.
- Adept with the full learning technology stack, including authoring tools (Articulate 360), learning platforms (LMS/LXP like Degreed), and innovative AI applications to enhance program development and delivery.
- Solid understanding of HR policies and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to interface with all levels of staff with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
- A proactive, consultative problem-solver and team player with a strong customer service orientation, superior organizational skills, and a proven track record in developing innovative learning solutions.
