Position Overview:
The E-Learning Manager leads SECU’s E-learning Development team and manages all e-learning projects and digital assets in the enterprise Learning Management System (LMS), providing support for learners across the organization. This role requires a strong leader with project management and instructional design background. The E-Learning Manager is commitment to the team, the projects, and to producing the highest quality in e-learning media.
The manager focuses on enhancing the e-learning function through improved processes, tools, relationships, staff selection, and understanding business strategy and goals. This is a deadline driven leadership role working on engaging education projects to meet the learning needs of the organization.
Essential Responsibilities:
- 30% Leadership and team management. Guide, motivate, and inspire the E-Learning team to achieve objectives. This includes providing direction, delegating tasks, and offering support. Set performance goals and ensure team members have the tools and resources to elevate their skills and abilities. Manage and distribute the workload and set timelines of the developers, ensuring opportunities for skill development and personal growth. Mentor and coach employees to improve skills and knowledge; leveraging employee strengths and preferences to benefit quality of services and employee morale.
- 25% Portfolio and catalog management. Maintain a comprehensive inventory of digital assets, ensuring all content is audited for efficacy and quality on a regular basis. Propose, plan and execute scheduling of all projects, setting processes in place for timely release of learning content, ensuring good record keeping and effective solutions.
- 15% Instructional Design. Build relationships with business partners to solution for enterprise learning needs that deliver high-quality training to all staff using known adult learning principles and technical knowledge. Develop training solutions to deliver engaging, measurable, and effective learning. Review and ensure quality assurance of all learning assets such as documents, storyboards, design assets, etc.
- 15% Relationship building and communication. Build and maintain good working relationships with business partners to promote collaboration and trust in Learning and Organizational Development.
- 15% Learning administration. Manage all E-Learning content in the LMS, ensuring required training is assigned and delivered to critical audiences. Support the team and users to ensure relevant training is maintained.
Required Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable fields of study such as Instructional Design, Graphic Design, Educational Technology, Education.
- Minimum years of experience: 5-7 years’ experience as an instructional designer, with project management, and leadership responsibilities.
- Experience in a project management capacity, including aspects of project planning, development, and execution.
- Critical thinking to identify opportunities, analyze situations, and make sound decisions to resolve problems and improve processes.
- Expertise in instructional design models and adult learning theory.
- Expertise in e-learning authoring and design tools, with the ability to mentor others on functionality.
- Experience developing and managing e-Learning projects and video production
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems with administrative capabilities. Cornerstone LMS experience preferred.
- Highly organized and excellent planning and execution skills.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on building organizational relationships.
Preferred Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
- Instructional design experience.
- Agile project management experience.
- Video production with director/coaching experience.
- Design Thinking experience.
- Cornerstone LMS experience preferred.
- Five years of experience in various e-learning tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Premier Pro, Photoshop, Audition, Camtasia, After Effects, etc.
- Preferred direct years of experience: 3
