As part of the Group Talent function, the Learning and Development Programme Lead will contribute to the design and coordination of blended learning programmes that are aligned to business needs and strategic goals. This role will work closely with L&D Business Partners and other key stakeholders to identify capability gaps, shape learning journeys, and direct internal content development and digital learning teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of learning solutions via our global platform, U+.
This is a hands-on role for someone with solid experience in learning design and programme coordination who is looking to broaden their scope and influence. It requires a blend of creativity, stakeholder engagement, and operational discipline to ensure that learning interventions are relevant, impactful, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Needs Analysis & Programme Design
- Collaborate with L&D Business Partners and key stakeholders to identify learning needs across different business areas
- Conduct targeted training needs analyses to understand skill gaps and development priorities
- Translate insights into high-quality blended learning solutions that support business goals and align with global L&D standards
- Design overall learning journeys that may include a mix of digital content, virtual or face-to-face workshops, on-the-job activities, coaching, and more. Programme Leadership & Collaboration
- Act as the learning lead for assigned programmes, managing them from concept through to deployment and evaluation
- Provide clear briefs and direction to the Content Development Centre for custom or curated learning assets
- Coordinate with the Digital Learning team to ensure accurate setup, enrolment, and delivery within the learning platform
- Monitor timelines, maintain documentation, and track progress to ensure smooth delivery and consistency with Rentokil Initial's learning standards
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Support the development and application of evaluation methods (e.g. learner feedback, completion data, business impact)
- Use insights to identify areas for improvement and ensure programmes remain relevant and effective
- Regularly review learning journeys and content with stakeholders and delivery teams
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure learning interventions are well supported
- Communicate programme plans, progress, and outcomes to relevant audiences
- Champion learning within the business and help promote adoption of development opportunities
L&D Innovation
- Keep up to date with learning trends, tools, and technologies to inform programme design
- Suggest and trial new approaches to improve learner engagement and accessibility
Requirements
- 3-5 years' experience in Learning and Development, including experience designing or
managing learning programmes.
- Strong understanding of training needs analysis and experience working with business
stakeholders to identify development priorities.
- Familiarity with blended learning design and delivery approaches (e.g. digital learning,
live facilitation, peer learning, on-the-job development).
- Experience working with or directing internal teams (e.g. instructional designers, LMS
administrators, external providers).
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills
- Comfortable working with data and learner feedback to assess programme
effectiveness.
- Experience using an LMS (Cornerstone, Workday, or similar) is an advantage
- Familiarity with learning design tools (e.g. Articulate Rise, Gomo) is beneficial, but not
essential.
