Learning and Development Manager
The Learning & Development manager will lead the development and engagement strategy for the Stein Collection in alignment with Stein Collection mission and goals. On the development front, this position will have oversight of the Stein Online Learning Management System, Leading the Best management training program, Stein Way New Hire orientation, Stein Collection Leadership Academy and more. This position will lead the charge on creating meaningful engagement opportunities for Stein Collection team members that will reinforce the Stein Collection culture and will increase team member satisfaction and retention.
The successful candidate will have a passion for helping others to learn and grow and the ability to connect team members to our mission and goals. This role is a tech forward position and the ability to leverage new ideas and technology to achieve the development and engagement goals is critical. The successful candidate will have a curiosity about organizational structures, processes, and change that will drive innovation and growth at the Stein Collection.
Essential Functions
- Spearhead training and development initiatives around Forbes Travel guide four- and five-star standards to include: semi-annual onsite Forbes trainings, internal auditing, bulletin boards, interactive training, and more.
- Develop and execute learning and development strategies aligned with company goals.
- Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and e-learning initiatives.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed.
- Identify skills gaps and create training plans to address them.
- Implement leadership development programs to nurture future leaders.
- Support career pathing and succession planning initiatives.
- Set yearly training strategy and coordinate execution.
- Track and analyze learning metrics to assess program effectiveness.
- Gather feedback from Team Members and managers to refine training initiatives.
- Report on L&D progress and impact to senior HR management.
- Plan, develop, and execute Stein Collection Leadership Academy activities to maximize leadership development amongst the management team.
- Develop and manage a Training and Development yearly budget.
- Serve as lead organizer for critical recognition events like Season Kick-Off, Quarterly Awards, and the Yearly Awards.
- Develop and administer new trainings for the Leading the Best management training series.
- Maintain Stein Collection leadership competencies and corresponding curriculum.
- Administer competency evaluation through online learning system and create custom learning paths.
- Build and launch trainings within the online learning system utilizing external content providers.
- Assist in the content creation of internal training through use of the Articulate platform.
- Participate in internal communication via team member engagement emails and the monthly newsletter.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Serve as the primary training resource for departmental learning and development.
Requirements
- Training and Development experience, preferred.
- Experience with Leadership Development programming, preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, required.
- Familiarity with organizational development concepts and implementation.
- Experience building content for online learning system, preferred. (Preferred familiarity with Acorn, Open Sesame, and Articulate.)
- Ability to work easily within the Microsoft suite of programs, required. (In particular: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Forms, and SharePoint)
- Ability to create event and training collateral within Canva, required.
- Past experience with large scale training planning and execution, required.
