Learning and Development Expert
Location: Hybrid with 2 days in the office in Slough
Role Overview
The Learning Expert is a key driver of the learning strategy across Intercontinental markets, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and the broader regional learning strategy. This role collaborates closely with stakeholders and the Global Market Access Learning team to define and develop impactful learning initiatives.
Working in close partnership with the Intercontinental East and West Learning Leads, the Learning Partner engages with commercial, medical, and market access teams to co-create and implement learning solutions.
This role acts as both a designer and orchestrator—translating learning needs into actionable plans, engaging subject matter experts (SMEs) as needed, and coordinating learning agendas across functions and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, development, and execution of commercial learning strategies during a dynamic launch period across Intercontinental markets.
- Support post-launch activities through milestone tracking, analysis, and ongoing learning interventions.
- Proactively gather insights from stakeholders to identify learning and development opportunities.
- Communicate available learning solutions from global and regional teams, and explore customization for local relevance.
- Collaborate with the global learning team on needs assessments and contribute to the design and piloting of new learning projects.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Patient Impact, Patient Evidence, and Asset teams) to integrate subject matter expertise into learning experiences.
- Oversee the implementation of learning programs, including planning, facilitator briefings, and issue resolution.
- Continuously improve learning experiences based on feedback and insights; explore digital innovations and leverage learning platforms for enhanced engagement.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required (Scientific, Business, or Engineering preferred)
- Master’s, PhD, or M.D. preferred for early-stage projects
Certifications
- Project Management certification preferred
Experience
- 3+ years in the pharmaceutical industry in learning and development
- Proven experience in developing and executing commercial learning plans
- Familiarity with international markets and cultural nuances
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and strategic planning skills
- Deep understanding of therapeutic areas and asset value
- Expertise in educational design, adult learning principles, and outcome evaluation
- Strong facilitation and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and learning platforms
- Agile mindset and ability to work in a patient-value-driven environment
