Job Summary
The Sr Learning & Development (L&D) Manager serves as a strategic leader and designer of global learning experiences that drive organizational capability, leader and manager effectiveness, and a culture of continuous growth. This role is responsible for shaping and executing scalable, high-impact learning strategies aligned to business priorities and organizational values. With deep expertise in adult learning, program management, facilitation, and change leadership, this role consults with senior stakeholders, designs global learning initiatives, and builds the systems and infrastructure needed to embed learning into the fabric of the organization.
Reporting to the Director of Learning & Development, this role is a key member of the People & Culture team and acts as a senior advisor across the global organization. The Senior L&D Manager partners cross-functionally and with external partners to elevate learning, enable transformation, and ensure measurable outcomes.
This position is located in Portland, OR, and necessitates a regular presence at our global headquarters (four days per week).
Essential Functions - Program Design, Implementation & Evaluation
- Oversees the design and evolution of global learning experiences across formats (virtual, in-person, micro-learning, eLearning, blended, and self-paced), grounded in instructional design best practices and inclusive adult learning methodologies.
- Conducts strategic needs assessments and applies data-driven insights to refine and scale initiatives.
- Ensures cohesion, accessibility, and a consistent learner experience across programs and platforms.
- Leads content development in alignment with leadership competencies, business priorities, and cultural values.
- Facilitation & Leadership Development
- Delivers high-impact facilitation for organization-wide audiences, including senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Role-models learning excellence and coach others in facilitation, leadership development, and learner engagement.
- Enables and mentors internal facilitators and the Learning Ambassador Board to scale delivery and foster a feedback-rich culture
- Learning Strategy & Advisory
- Acts as a strategic thought partner to business leaders and People & Culture to assess capability needs and translate them into learning strategies that drive performance and transformation.
- Leads organizational development learning initiatives from vision through execution, including leadership development, manager enablement, and learning culture building.
- Shapes governance, measurement strategies, and operating models to ensure effectiveness, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Provides subject matter expertise to the Global Learning Council and senior leadership to influence priorities and investments in learning.
- Operational Leadership & Collaboration
- Leads cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to ensure learning solutions are efficiently delivered and integrated into the employee lifecycle.
- Strengthens L&D systems, processes, and resources to enable scale, adoption, and sustainability.
- Contributes to organization-wide P&C initiatives, driving alignment between learning, talent, DEI, and culture strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in organizational development, Business, HR, Education, or related field required
- Certification - CPTD, ATD Master Trainer, or similar certification strongly preferred
- Coaching certification a plus
- Seven (7) years of progressive experience in Learning and Development, with at least three (3) years in a senior or strategic leadership capacity
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Experience with tools such as Articulate 360, Smartsheets, and platforms like LinkedIn Learning
- Familiarity with competency models (e.g., Korn Ferry Leadership Architecture)
- Experience operating in a high-growth, global, or complex organizational environment
- Proven ability to design and lead large-scale learning initiatives that build leadership capability, accelerate performance, and support enterprise transformation
- Strategic consulting skills with the ability to influence, advise, and partner with senior leaders
- Expertise in instructional design, facilitation, adult learning theory, and leadership development frameworks
- Demonstrated success in applying change management and organizational development principles
- Exceptional project management, prioritization, and stakeholder engagement skills across a matrixed, global environment
- Skilled in analyzing learning data to drive improvements and demonstrate impact
- Deep understanding of modern learning technologies, tools, and platforms

Base Salary: $117,000 - $130,000 yearly
This range represents the low and high ends of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as experience, knowledge and skills, and location.
