The Role
The Head of Learning & Development is accountable for leading the design, delivery, and evaluation of a Group-wide learning strategy that meets the operational, regulatory, and leadership needs of our field-based and central teams.
Responsibilities
- Strategic L&D Leadership - Develop and execute a Group-wide learning strategy that supports business growth, compliance, and performance.
- Compliance & Audit-Ready Training - Own and maintain all mandatory and regulatory training frameworks to ensure 100% compliance.
- Apprenticeships & Early Careers - Lead the strategic use of the apprenticeship levy to develop internal capability and attract new talent.
- Leadership & Management Development - Design and deliver tiered leadership programmes for first-time, mid-level, and senior leaders.
- Succession & Internal Talent Pipelines - Partner with HRBPs and Talent to identify critical roles, successors, and development needs.
- Digital Enablement & Learning Experience - Lead the evolution of digital learning platforms (LMS, LXP, AI-driven tools), curating personalised journeys.
- People & Team Leadership - Build and lead a high-performing L&D team across core specialisms.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Governance - Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, and HR to ensure training needs are met and risks mitigated.
Requirements:
- Proven, measurable experience of implementing an LMS.
- Proven track record in leading enterprise-wide L&D strategy in regulated environments.
- Experience managing field-based and distributed learning delivery models.
- Delivered leadership development and internal succession programmes at scale.
- Familiarity with learning audits, inspections, and provider management.
- Working within/strong knowledge of the Property Maintenance sector - strongly preferred. Construction and/or Facilities Management sector experience acceptable.
