1.The Role: Overall Responsibilities (Adding Value to Pret)
Overall Purpose of Role: This person will help us to empower learning at Pret, by working closely with the Academy and Learning team, and wider business stakeholders, to design and deliver awesome learning journeys for our people. No project is too big or too small, and so you’ll dive headfirst into: end to end learning design for blended environments and experiences, creation of job aids and/or resources, filming and editing of video learning content, in-person workshop design that really wows, and much more. From multi-year projects, to week long sprints, you’ll have an opportunity to make a big impact at Pret, and set the stage for future learning to come.
Key Info: Part Time role, 2 days work from home, 1 day in our offices in London

2. Core Responsibilities
- Learning Design: Leverage your design expertise to create engaging and impactful learning journeys that blend digital, virtual, and in-person experiences that enable our teams to own what they do, grow their skill set (technical & behavioural), and feel confident to do the right thing.
- Digital Expertise: Lead the charge for digital learning at Pret, utilising the tools and resources at your disposal to create scalable, inspirational, and game-changing digital learning that meets our people where they are. Experience connecting with ‘front-line’/’deskless’/’hands-on’ colleagues is a must.
- Learning Analysis: Stay curious and always ask why, ensuring any learning we create is backed by data-driven outcomes, real business needs, and in alignment with our 2030 vision. Track, report on, and evaluate learning outcomes to prove/disprove learning success, driving future solutions or iterations as a result.
- Learning Experiments: Be unafraid to try new things, experiment with different modalities, and change as you go.
- Stakeholder Management: Build amazing relationships across Pret that connect you with subject matter experts, to drive learning that’s aligned to true business needs. Hold the confidence to keep the learner in mind, and positively challenge when needed, to bring the best result for all.
- Project Management: Own your assigned projects as the subject matter expert for learning, championing the learner in everything you do, and delivering to project scope, deadlines, and budget with awesome solutions.
Additional Responsibilities
- To support with relevant Pret projects as required.
- To support the development and launch of ad-hoc learning initiatives in line with specific business needs as required.
- To attend any required Learning and Development team meetings.
- To attend regular one-to-ones with your Learning and Development Manager.
- Budget management for programmes/learning journeys in your remit as required.
- Support with the execution of learning experiences in-person as required.
- Mentor the wider learning team to grow their expertise around learning design methodology, tools, and delivery.
3. Essential Skills and Knowledge
- A passion for Pret and our people – you’re a part of our Academy and Learning team, after all!
- Strong verbal written and communication skills with confidence to engage with stakeholders and learners from all around the world.
- Experience in using digital learning design tools (we currently use Elucidat, Synthesia, and Adobe Creative Cloud).
- Experience designing, and delivering, blended learning experiences for a dispersed, deskless audience.
- Understanding LMS systems (we currently use Cornerstone), or a willingness to learn!
- Confidence to deliver honest, but kind, feedback to others.
- A proactive mindset, always thinking about ways we can make things even better.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business landscapes and learners’ needs.
- A desire to go the extra mile and sprinkle some Pret joy into everyone's day!
