BCHA is a charitable housing association supporting individuals and families across the South West and South of England. We are a major provider of a diverse range of housing, support and learning services for socially excluded people. We manage over 1400 properties, employ over 400 colleagues and support thousands of individuals each year to take control and lead independent, fulfilled lives. We are working to end homelessness through responsive and preventative service provision.

We are looking for a motivated, influential and experienced leader to work with the senior leadership team to transform our organisational culture to ensure we become an employer of choice.

Your key role will be to lead on the development and implementation of a visionary People Strategy that aligns with our 5-year Business Plan.
There will be positive challenges in this role as you work towards bringing about transformational change, overseeing the promotion of staff wellbeing, job fulfilment, people development and reviewing our employment offer to enable us to recruit and retain the best people.
In this role you will:
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing organisational culture.
- Build and deliver a roadmap of people initiatives to meet our strategic goal of 'valued and supported teams'.
- Lead on the development of an organisational training strategy to support the achievement of the Business Plan
- Develop and implement a fit for purpose performance management and reward framework
- Strengthen support and development for managers across the organisation.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Board, Executive Team, and departmental managers.

Please note we have one role available for a Head of People. This role can be based in the
Bournemouth or Plymouth areas, with the added flexibility of agile working.
Requirements:
- Significant experience and/or the appropriate qualifications in HR
- Experience of leading change or transformation programmes
- Knowledge of learning and development activities for an organisation of our size (c. 400 employees)
- Experience of leading a strategic people agenda in a large multi-faceted organisation
- Excellence in culture, staff wellbeing, staff engagement and internal comms
- Proven line management skills
- Proven strong budget management skills
- Approachable and engaging communication style
- Knowledge or experience of one or several of the housing, health, social care or property sectors
