Job Title: Head of Learning and Development
Location: Central London or Milton Keynes office with flexibility to travel to the other site
Hybrid working: 2-3 days a week in an office
Salary: £80-90,000 depending on experience + benefits

We are recruiting for our first Head of L&D, reporting to the Chief People Officer, who will be responsible for developing and implementing ICAEW’s learning and development strategy and associated plans that align to organisational goals, drives optimal performance, retention and engagement. This role will play a key part in driving cultural change that aids the delivery of ICAEWs longer term strategy. This is a newly created role owning the full learning & development agenda as well as talent management.
Main Responsibilities of the Role Include:
- Develop and deliver a learning and development strategy that supports ICAEW’s key strategic goals and the people strategy.
- Support the design and delivery of engaging, accessible and effective learning programmes.
- Deliver training and direct learning and coaching support as and when required.
- Establish a learning needs analysis approach that is linked to key strategic goals with a ROI mindset
- Lead the development and implementation of management and leadership programmes that result in leaders having strong and consistent leadership capabilities that enable ICAEW goals to be delivered along with a high engaged workforce.
- Lead the development of a talent and succession planning framework to create a strong pipeline of talent.
- Play a key part in developing ICAEWs new values, behaviours and associated learning to embed them.
- Where appropriate represent ICAEW at external events and/or networking groups that promotes ICAEW and drives collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Work with Head of Reward to support and develop the recognition scheme, linked to ICAEWs values.
- Work with existing and source new external training partners/providers and industry experts to ensure high quality learning content aligns with ICAEW’s strategy, culture and policies.
- Work closely with DE&I team to develop learning requirements that drives awareness and inclusion.
- Establish a suite of metrics and KPIs to measure ROI and drive continuous improvements
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Experience of developing/significantly contributing to L&D strategies/plans that meet business goals
- Experience of managing significant external partners
- Proven ability to understand and communicate with C-suite level/senior leaders to understand learning needs and translate them into enterprise and/or bespoke solutions.
- Proven experience of presenting new L&D solutions that drives engagement
- Strong people and project management skills.
- Experienced at setting, managing, monitoring, and negotiating budgets and measuring effectiveness and return on investment.
- Has a ‘business first’ mindset, IQ, resilience and strong communication skills
- Effective understanding and experience of learning design, facilitation, coaching and training skills.
- Proven ability to develop and use L&D analytics/data and evaluation criteria to inform strategic and operational decisions that drive the development and delivery of learning and development solutions.
- A good standard of professional education and membership of CIPD, LPI or relevant professional body.
This role will be hybrid with 2-3 days a week in the office. You will be based either out of our office in Central London or Milton Keynes with flexibility to travel to the other site.
