Tri-global Solutions Group Inc. is seeking one (1) Senior Training Specialist (Communications) to join our talented Service Delivery team at Ministry of Environment & Protected Areas (Government of Alberta).

WORK MODEL: The successful contractor(s) will work primarily remotely. The role is listed as a hybrid role, however, the possibility of onsite meetings or work sessions in Edmonton, Alberta is minimal. Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada to apply (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident). Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 with a 1 hour lunch break Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays.

PROJECT OVERVIEW / DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

The Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining learning materials that support effective use of the Digital Regulatory Assurance System (DRAS) across Environment and Protected Areas (EPA). This role focuses on identifying performance gaps, translating system and business process requirements into practical training tools, and supporting the delivery of structured virtual training to EPA staff to ensure consistent, confident, and efficient use of DRAS.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
– Develop and maintain clear, practical learning materials to support DRAS use, including job aids, guides, presentations, and scenario based learning resources.
– Work closely with subject matter experts, system leads, and business areas to ensure training content accurately reflects DRAS functionality, regulatory business processes, and user responsibilities.
– Identify gaps in user knowledge, performance, or consistency through feedback, observations, and data, and recommend targeted training or learning interventions to address those gaps.
– Support the design and development of formal virtual training sessions, including course outlines, slide decks, exercises, and supporting materials for EPA staff.
– Assist with the coordination and delivery of virtual training sessions, including facilitation support, participant guidance, and post training follow up activities.
– Contribute to continuous improvement of DRAS training by incorporating user feedback, system changes, and evolving business needs into learning products.
– Organize and manage training materials within established repositories to ensure content is current, accessible, and easy to navigate.
– Support alignment of training materials with broader Regulatory Assurance training strategies and standards within EPA.

MANDATORY SKILLS

– Education: -Bachelor degree or -Diploma (in business, communications, adult education etc.) with 3 additional years experience in the area of training. (Yes or No)
– Experience creating user training materials, technical documentation, and platform support resources. (5 years+)
– Experience delivering training sessions via web-based interactive technology i.e. TEAMs. (5 years+)
– Experience working on multiple tasks or initiatives with strict timelines, simultaneously. (5 years+)

DESIRABLE / NICE TO HAVE SKILLS

– Experience developing and delivering communications and presentations at multiple levels of an organization. (eg. Executive Management, Management, Program Sponsors, Steering Committee, Branch Managers, End Users). (3 years+)
– Experience developing and delivering training materials including documentation, computer – based training modules and training videos. (3 years+)
– Experience developing change management deliverables including Change Strategy and Plans, Training Strategy and Plans, Stakeholder Impact Assessments, Communication Strategy and Plans. (3 years+)
– Experience documenting user requirements, business processes, and workflows. (3 years+)
– Experience fostering effective working relationships with leadership and stakeholders. (3 years+)
– Using feedback analytics to shape/adjust training materiel. (3 years+)
