USA: Global Office in New York City and multiple home offices.

8 Partner Countries: Australia, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.

Position Summary

The Hunger Project (THP) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its global Program team. The Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Associate will support Program offices around the world to collect, organize, analyze, and learn from monitoring and evaluation data. They will act as a liaison and point of contact for Program Country MEL teams, as well as with the grants management team.

THP employees are not expected to be physically present in the New York or other THP Office space in the USA, except if required for service or by the job function, or determined by the supervisor, or for meeting purposes as needed and instructed by a manager. A manager can always ask for a direct report to come to a THP office space or other meeting space to meet in person for business reasons. To foster collaboration and build teams, THP employees may be required to join in person meetings and gatherings. THP may provide reasonable accommodations to employees who require an exception to this policy.

The position is fully remote, with the option of staff living in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut working from the Headquarter Office in New York City. This is a full-time position, and will report to the Associate Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, & Learning (MEL). This is a non-exempt salaried position and is eligible for overtime.

The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $60,000 USD, not including an annualized cafeteria plan allowance currently fixed at $18,000. The candidate must have eligibility to work in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship in the future.

Essential Functions

Data Collection

Ensure the continuous and timely collection of relevant data from Program Countries and its entry into the global database.
Introduce database functionalities to respond to global user needs, such as automated analytics and visual dashboard.
Analyze and interpret collected data to generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate key performance indicators and findings.

Learning

Assist with the development of a strategy for identifying, reflecting on and disseminating learning internally and externally on specific grants.
Analyze program results periodically and disseminate findings to key stakeholders.
Utilize and promote the use of the MEL data by others to design effective program activities and enhance program results.
Facilitate regular learning sessions and reflection meetings with program staff to capture and disseminate best practices, lessons learned, and innovative approaches.

Fundraising

Evaluate and improve the MEL portion of technical grants, and monitor and support implementation.
Provide relevant historical data on program results for use in proposals, grants and other fundraising materials.
Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling fundraising materials, including case studies, videos, and presentations, to showcase the organization's impact and attract donor support.

Supporting

Program Country MEL Teams
Clean and audit data entered into the data management platform.
Manage and coordinate timely responses to support requests, and serve as a liaison between Global Office and Program Country teams to ensure effective communication, coordination.
Offer troubleshooting and problem-solving support to address challenges encountered by program country teams related to data collection, analysis, reporting, and learning activities.

Qualifications

1. Education

Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in related field (International Affairs, Public Policy, Economics, Social sciences, Statistics)

2. Work Experience

Minimum Required: 2 years with international INGOs in the area of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning.
Preferred: remote team structure, and experience in a fast-paced environment with a small team.

3. Specialized Knowledge Needed for Job Performance

Proficiency with Spreadsheets, and advanced knowledge of Excel is required.
Experience with statistics and statistical methodologies including SPSS, Stata and/or PowerBI.
Strong knowledge of data collection tools such as Kobo Toolbox.

4. Skills

Sound judgment, able to troubleshoot problems, come up with creative solutions, while also identifying issues which need to be escalated.
Superior organization skills and high-level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills; ability to work with colleagues and partners nationally and internationally.
Self-driven and results-oriented, with a positive outlook.
Ability to adapt and work in a very flexible, fluid, and evolving environment.

High level of comfort with new technologies, and able to quickly learn new tools.

5. Special Skills

Proficiency in MS Office suite, with expertise in Excel.
High level of knowledge with Google Suite and tools.
Proficiency in PHP, SQL HTML/CSS, Looker Studio, Tableau

6. Other

Working knowledge of Spanish and/or French is preferred.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, and work on multiple time zones, as necessary.
