Tamarack is seeking a 15-month contract position of Community Animator, Digital Sales, Engagement and Learning (DSEL). The successful candidate can be based anywhere in Canada and will work remotely from their home office.

On-going Responsibilities

Support Tamarack’s commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Justice, and Reconciliation (EDIJR).
Understanding of Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action and ability to embed EDIJR into the work.
Follow process to design within the Tamarack brand, format and publish resources and publications to the website in line with Tamarack best practice.
Update and maintain Tamarack website.
Seek out automation opportunities that ensure database integrity.
Lead social media support, design, draft and post social posts with guidance from Community Animators & Associate Director.
Produce monthly social media calendar for each social media account that references the communications calendar, event listing, content, days of significance, member events.
Report on metrics: social media statistics, marketing and e-mail open rates and more as directed by team.
Manage off branding requests as necessary such as banners, social posts, images, and graphics, mostly through production of and training for templates that acknowledge file size.
Follow best practice to implement seamless file naming conventions, versioning conventions, and folder organization.
Design for fundraising products, as directed by the broader Tamarack team.
Provide technical support for webinars and events as needed.
Provide additional administrative support as needed for the DSEL team.
Report to Associate Director, DSEL and participate in regular check in calls.
Be an active member of one of Tamarack’s EDIJR teams.
Participate in weekly update meetings with team.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Design Communications or Marketing.
1-3 years of experience in positions with similar responsibilities; not-for-profit experience an asset.
Experience using HubSpot is required.
Self-motivated and results-oriented with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects at once within established deadlines.
Experience working with diverse communities and understanding of the realities of equity-deserving communities.
Ability to work virtually, both independently and in co-operation with a small team.
Strong computer and technical skills with proficiency in MS Office, Canva, Mural, and Zoom.
Ability to speak and write in English is required. Bilingualism (English and French) is a definite asset.
Willingness/ability to travel, as required.

Supervision and Reporting

The Community Animator, DSEL reports to the Associate Directors, DSEL. They are a member of the DSEL team and are required to contribute to the overall achievement of Tamarack’s strategic goals and deliverables of the Tamarack team as a whole.

Work Environment

This is a full-time 40-hour per week 15-Month contract position. As with most positions at Tamarack, you may reside in any location in Canada. Tamarack is a remote work environment, and your designated office space may be in your home. In some cases, Tamarack will rent team members office space near their preferred location in Canada, preferably co-located with another nonprofit organization.

Salary & Benefits

Tamarack provides a competitive salary and benefits, annual professional development fund, technology fund, an annual gratitude fund for team members to express gratitude to partners and teammates, flex time, and Focus Fridays, one day per week where we are encouraged to take only critical meetings. Our paid time off includes the flexible option to take three (3) statutory holidays on days that hold meaning to you. We close our offices the last week of December. Tamarack operates within a progressive management philosophy.

This is a full-time 40-hour per week 15-month contract position and compensation is rated between $60,000 and $70,000 a year. The successful candidate will be offered a salary that is commensurate with experience.
