The Role

To assume responsibility for design, development and delivery of training programmes for HEP UK as part of the wider Trainer team. Working closely with Operational Management and Human Resources, the role will lead on the day to day running and continuous improvement of training provided to Contact Centre, and the Induction and Probation framework of all new starters within HEP UK.

The role will require a strong understanding of the different functional areas of HEP, and to work with Management of each department to ensure that the experience of new starters during their Onboarding and Probationary Period is efficient, well rounded and sets them up to succeed in their new role.

Successful achievement of this role will require excellent facilitation and organisational skills, ability to foster a culture of continuous learning and demonstrable proficiency in various training styles, frameworks and methodologies.

Based in the UK with occasional travel expected across HEP UK sites

Job purpose

To develop and implement comprehensive training programs to enhance employee skills and performance, taking a strategic view on talent development, career pathways and succession planning. To collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify training needs aligned with HEP UK objectives, and continually evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives to evidence impact on employee engagement and productivity.

Role Specific Accountabilities

· Develop and implement tailored training programs for Contact Centre employees,

· Lead on the Induction and Probation framework for all HEP UK employees, • Understand the needs of the business to ensure Induction and related legal compliance training is organised and delivered cost effectively

· Line Management of HEP UK Trainers, ensuring the consistent delivery of engaging and effective training sessions

· Continuously assess training effectiveness through feedback mechanisms, performance metrics and observations, and make adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.

Role Responsibilities

Training Program Development and Design:

· Training Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough assessments, surveys, and consultations with stakeholders to identify gaps in knowledge, skills, and competencies.

· Develop Training Programs: Design comprehensive training programs that address identified needs, incorporating a variety of instructional methods and resources.

· Curriculum Development: Create detailed training curricula, including lesson plans, presentations, handouts, manuals, and multimedia materials tailored to the target audience and learning objectives.

Training Delivery and Facilitation:

· Delivery of Training: Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions either in-person or virtually, ensuring that content is effectively communicated and understood by participants.

· Facilitation and Instruction: Facilitate group discussions, activities, and exercises to encourage active participation and reinforce learning objectives. Provide clear instructions, guidance, and support to participants throughout the training process.

Evaluation and Improvement:

· Evaluation and Assessment: Develop and administer assessments, surveys, and feedback mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of training programs and gather insights for improvement.

· Continuous Improvement: Analyse evaluation data and feedback to identify areas for enhancement. Make necessary adjustments to training content, delivery methods, and materials to continuously improve training outcomes and participant satisfaction.

Logistics and Resource Management:

· Training Logistics: Coordinate logistical aspects of training events, including scheduling, venue selection, equipment setup, and participant registration.

· LMS Management: Collaborate with external training providers and systems to supplement in-house training efforts, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.

· Technology Integration: Utilise learning management systems (LMS), virtual classrooms, multimedia tools, and other technologies to enhance training delivery, accessibility, and engagement.

Compliance and Employee Development:

· Compliance and Regulation: Ensure that training programs comply with relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and HEP UK policies, particularly in areas such as safety, diversity, ethics, and data privacy.

· Employee Development Planning: Work with individual employees and managers to assess development needs, set goals, and create personalized development plans aligned with career aspirations and HEP UK objectives.

· Leadership Development: Identify high-potential employees and design specialized leadership development programs to cultivate leadership skills, foster talent retention, and support succession planning efforts.

Communication and Reporting:

· Communication and Reporting: Communicate training initiatives, progress, and outcomes to key stakeholders through regular updates, reports, presentations, and meetings. Ensure transparency and alignment with HEP UK goals and priorities.

Team Management and Culture Building:

· Team Management: Provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of trainers, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and a positive work environment.

· Culture Building: Promote a culture of continuous learning, development, and innovation within the organization by emphasizing the importance of training as a strategic investment in employee growth and organizational success. Encourage knowledge sharing, collaboration, and recognition of learning achievements.

General

· To work flexibly across the department, cross covering for colleagues as required

· To undertake any other responsibilities relevant to the role, or reasonably requested by the Line Manager

Key Skills and Qualifications

Award in Education and Training (Level 3) qualified, or willing to work towards
Excellent group facilitation skills
Ability to proactively engage multiple stakeholders in design of course content
