Senior Manager of Learning and Events

Position Overview

This position is responsible for managing externally funded and fee-based programs and events in support of ASEE’s Education and Career Development Office.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Event Planning and Program Management

Manages the coordination of face-to-face and online events, including, but not limited to venue procurement; speaker identification; participant communications; timelines and schedules; budget and cost control; event materials; and live and post-event support.
Manages multiple programs (planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling resources) to prioritize workload, and effectively coordinate multiple obligations.
Develops evaluation plans and data collection instruments that determine the effectiveness of ASEE’s educational offerings, analyzes and interprets data, and identifies solutions for improvement.
Ensures timely production of program deliverables including but not limited to face-to-face and online events, websites, evaluation activities, and reports.
Drafts annual and final non-financial reports for sponsors.
Conducts financial reporting activities, including monitoring expenditures, preparing budget projections and revisions, and processing payments.

Program and Product Development

Supports the development of new educational programs, products, and initiatives that are aligned with ASEE’s mission, vision, and strategic goals, offer new revenue streams in line with ASEE’s mission, and increase member recruitment and retention.
Develops policies, processes, and procedures that ensure quality and branding and appropriate accommodations for participants with different abilities.
Performs benchmarking of not-for-profit organizations and educational institutions to understand relative positioning and provides recommendations to expand ASEE’s portfolio of programs and offerings.
Works cross-functionally with internal teams to develop robust digital marketing campaigns for educational offerings, with a focus on increasing member recruitment and retention.

Program Development

Supports the development of new educational programs, products, and initiatives that are aligned with ASEE’s mission, vision, and strategic goals, offer new revenue streams in line with ASEE’s mission, and increase member recruitment and retention.
Collaborates with the Director of Education and Career Development to prepare grant proposals and dissemination resources including project summaries, reports, and learning briefs.

Other Duties

Documents processes for consistency in delivery of services and knowledge transfer.
Maintains an electronic record-keeping system.
Participates in team meetings and contributes to processes improvement.
Identifies opportunities to overcome challenges, explore options, and resolve issues.
Offers critical analysis and seeks guidance from management when necessary.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Essential Qualifications

3 – 5 years of experience in project/program management, grants administration or related field, preferably in a non-profit setting.
Demonstrated experience designing and organizing complex in-person and/or virtual events, including, but not limited to conferences, workshops, and webinars.
Strong communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with academic, government, industry, technology, non-profit, and international partners, executives, and organizations.
Highly service-oriented, team-oriented, and goal oriented, with great flexibility to identify priorities, manage and respond to competing deadlines and priorities.
Exceptional written communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Advanced knowledge of and proficiency in MS Office (particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Zoom.
Experience with WordPress and Canva preferred.
Understanding of the engineering education ecosystem preferred.
Experience in association environments preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
